Well-versed in the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Chisty is affiliated with the Key-Whitman Eye Center, tending to patients in the Dallas area. She specializes in cataract surgery with advanced technology including intraocular lenses and femtosecond lasers, LASIK/PRK, corneal transplants, cross-linking, and MIGS (micro invasive glaucoma surgery). She also performs comprehensive eye exams and treats conditions like dry eye, glaucoma, corneal/external eye disease, tumors, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

Born in Dallas and raised in Plano, Dr. Chisty went to Plano West Senior High and graduated magna cum laude from University of Memphis. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, Colorado, where she earned the “Resiliency” award amongst those in her graduating class. 

Subsequently, she did both her internship and residency in ophthalmology at Larkin Hospital in South Miami, Florida, and served as Chief Resident in her final year. She continued her training with a one year fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at The University of Missouri.

Recognized as a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Chisty is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Among her other roles, she has staff privileges at Texas Presbyterian Hospital, Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Baylor Surgicare Dallas, Texas Health Surgery Center Dallas, and Key-Whitman Surgery Center.

Throughout her career, Dr. Chisty has had the opportunity to provide international eye care in India and Guatemala. Serving her community locally and abroad remains one of her passions. Giving back and volunteering her time to underserved areas remains an interest of hers. One of her favorite sayings is, “From what we get, we can make a living. What we give, however, makes a life.”, Arthur Ashe.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. When she is not working, Dr. Chisty enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, three children, and friends. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi and Urdu.
