She then went on to further her training by completing her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and completed her fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Children’s Memorial Hospital – Chicago.

An expert in her field, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics, pediatric critical care medicine, and hospice & palliative medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

In order to remain up to date in her field, she is an active member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatric critical care specialists treat children from birth through the teen years. As a testament to her success, Dr. Calamur has been the recipient of the Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital Teaching Award (2011), Loyola University Medical Center Magis Star Award (2011), Heartsaver Hero Award (2013), SSMile Award (2014, 2015), Glennon Ambassador Nominee for Exceptional Care (2016), and Ursula Rolfe Award (2017).
