Well-versed in the field of pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Dr. Joseph is the former Director of the Teen and Tot Clinic at Boston Medical Center, a comprehensive case management program serving nearly 400 mothers (ages 23 and under) and child dyads yearly. She is an expert in the area of adolescent pregnancy and parenting, as well as in primary  cervical cancer prevention. Back in 1987, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Wesleyan University, and went on to attend the New York Medical College, earning both her medical degree and Master of Public Health degree in 1992. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s National Medical Center and the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1995, followed by a fellowship in adolescent medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital in 1998.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Passionate about teaching, Dr. Joseph serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Her research focuses on HPV vaccine initiation among low-income and minority women, children and adolescents in public healthcare settings. Her work has made her a world leader in cancer prevention among minority communities, with 25 publications and eight grants (2 NIH, 5 foundation, 1 industry) on this topic since 2007.
