Get to know Dr. Nataliya Polito, who has proudly served patients in Oklahoma and Texas.

Dr. Polito is a practicing and board certified  Family Medicine physician, allum of the Community-Based Family Medicine Program at the Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research.

The Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research was established in 2016 in San Antonio, Texas and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. It is a consortium that includes community-based hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine.

The general objectives of the Community-Based Family Medicine Program include: train residents to provide quality clinical care in a wide range of clinical venues; expose trainees to the subspecialties medicine in order to obtain a broader understanding of the scope of patient care; introduce trainees to ambulatory continuity of care medicine; create in trainees a proficiency level of excellence in medicine; develop an organized approach toward the diagnosis of disease; apply the principles of evidence-based medicine to the care of patients; integrate osteopathic concepts in the diagnosis and treatment of patients; develop an awareness of health care economics and practice cost containment; recognize the basis of and the need for humanistic values in clinical medicine; stimulate participation in the educational process of residents and students; develop a methodical approach to reading, interpreting and applying the medical literature; promote health well-being and preventative medicine; and provide healthcare to the underserved population in South Texas.

Dr. Polito graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014.  Most of her medical training and practice has been centered on taking care of urban as well as rural patient populations of Oklahoma and Texas, with a special emphasis on treating underserved populations and behavioral health issues. 

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
