In the past, he was a team physician for Iona College, and as an assistant team physician for the Brooklyn Nets and New York Red Bulls. 

Regarding his educational background, Dr. Coleman earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2009. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington and Affiliated Hospitals in 2014, followed by his fellowship in sports medicine with the Hospital for Special Surgery in 2015.

Licensed to practice medicine in Virginia, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Achieving professional competence, Dr. Coleman is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
