Alongside his position at North DFW Urology, Dr. Graves has been working at Baylor Medical Center since 1987. He is also a partner in Business Air, a jet charter sales company in Denton, Texas.

Regarding his educational background, Dr. Graves attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University Pharmacy School, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was named to the academic honor society, Rho Chi. He then went on to attend the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, where he graduated with his medical degree in 1980. During his time in medical school, he received a Reader’s Digest Award and worked as a medical missionary in Kenya, Africa. 

He did his residency in general surgery at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and later worked with Careflight Rescue Helicopter for one year as an emergency room physician. He also worked as a medical missionary in Nigeria before returning to the Department of Urology at the University of Oklahoma where he finished his residency training in urological surgery in 1986.

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Graves is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Oklahoma, the doctor is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.

Published in the Journal of Urology, Dr. Graves serves on the International Health Care Board and has worked as a medical missionary in Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and India.

Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system.
