Dr. Erinjeri is an experienced surgical oncologist specializing in the surgical treatment of the endocrine system, which includes the thyroid, parathyroids, pituitary, adrenals, hypothalamus, pineal body, reproductive organs, and pancreas. Following the completion of her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2012, Dr. Erinjeri went on to further her training. She completed her residency in general surgery and her fellowship in endocrine surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine in 2017 and 2018, respectively. While at Yale, she was a member of the Women in Surgery Committee, Section of Surgical Education.

The doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, which is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. She is also trained in advanced techniques and minimally invasive approaches that can be performed through small incisions, reducing scarring, pain, and recovery time for patients. 

Throughout the years, Dr. Erinjeri has presented abstracts and posters in her specialty. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and a member of several other professional societies.

Surgical oncology is the branch of surgery applied to oncology. It focuses on the surgical management of tumors, especially cancerous tumors. A surgical oncologist removes the tumor and nearby tissue during surgery. He or she also performs certain types of biopsies to help diagnose cancer.
