Dr. Sotereanos attended the Hahnemann University School Of Medicine, where he graduated with his Medical Degree in 1986, giving him over two decades of experience in his field. After obtaining his Medical Degree Dr. Sotereanos completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency with the University of Pittsburgh. Following his internship and residency, he undertook his fellowship with Anderson Clinic in 1995. Dr. Sotereanos is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Sotereanos currently serves as Program Director with Allegheny Orthopedic Associates. Under the direction of Nicholas G. Sotereanos, MD, the fellow and two residents work with attending faculty members doing primary and revision arthroplasty. The fellow participates in the weekly joint conferences, Grand Rounds, monthly Morbidity and Mortality conferences, as well as division research activities.
Orthopaedic surgeons are devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Some orthopaedists are generalists, while others specialize in certain areas of the body, others specialty focuses include shoulder and elbow, hand, and spine. Orthopaedic surgeons treat broken bones, and replace painful joints, and also treat patients for sports injuries, back pain, ruptured discs and spinal stenosis, bone tumors, carpal tunnel, hand arthritis and hand injuries, clubfoot, bow legs and hip dysplasia, orthopaedic trauma, limb lengthening, achilles tendon injuries, bunions and foot and ankle injuries, osteoporosis, and arthritis.
