Born in The Netherlands and raised in the Caribbean, Dr. Linschoten graduated with his medical degree from the State University of Utrecht in Holland in 1983, after which he performed his internship in general surgery at the same educational venue. He then relocated to the United States, performing an additional internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He followed this up with a fellowship in adult reconstruction/joint replacements at The Cleveland Clinic, completing his training in July of 1992.
With over 25 years of surgical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana, Dr. Linschoten is an active member of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, the Southern Medical Association, The Johns Hopkins Medical Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the International College of Joint Reconstruction Surgery.
