Dr. Mahajan is a well-renowned, board-certified specialist in the interventional cardiology field. His clinical interests include the treatment of coronary artery disease, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, fibrillation, congestive heart failure, hypercholesterolemia, critical limb ischemia, and varicose veins. At present, he can be found on staff at several hospitals.

His patients, who are 18 and older, have come to value his high level of accountability and accessibility. 

Since 2006, he has provided his services as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Wayne State University, focusing on teaching subjects relating to cardiac and cardiovascular diseases. Prior to this position, he worked as a Research Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. 

In preparation for his medical career, Dr. Mahajan earned his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College (University of Delhi) in India. He then relocated to the United States, where he obtained his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health. Following this, he completed his residency at the Maimonides Medical Center, as well as received a second medical degree from the same institution. 

Wanting to further his education, he did his fellowship in general cardiology at Wayne State University in Detroit, followed by a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Michigan State University.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society of Coronary Angiography & Interventions, the doctor is board-certified in both interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Holding a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) Certification, he is also board-certified in nuclear cardiology, echocardiology, and computed tomography angiography.

Alongside his primary endeavors, Dr. Mahajan has authored manuscripts in several peer-reviewed journals, served as a reviewer, and presented his findings at both national and international conferences. He maintains affiliation with several professional organizations, including the Michigan State Medical Society and the American College of Physicians. 

In recognition of his outstanding achievements in his field, he was honored with the Maimonides Research Grant by the Institutional Board of Higher Education with Maimonides Medical Center in 2005 and 2006. 

Interventional cardiology is the subspecialty of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter-based treatment of heart diseases. The field includes the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, vascular disease, and acquired structural heart disease. An interventional cardiologist is a cardiologist with one to two years of additional education and training in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease, as well as congenital and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.

A resident of North Houston area, Dr. Mahajan is married with one child. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and doing charity work.
