She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2017, followed by her fellowship training in infectious disease (serving as chief fellow) at the said establishment in 2019.

That same year, she attained board certification in internal medicine and infectious disease through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Ghusson is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Women’s Association.

Infectious disease is a medical specialty dealing with prevention, the diagnosis, and treatment of infections. Infectious disease specialists provide long-term care to people with diseases that are lifelong or last for more than one year. They employ a variety of antimicrobial agents to help treat infections.

Throughout her line of work, Dr. Ghusson has published research in peer-reviewed medical journals, participated in infectious disease research while at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and presented at the City Wide Infectious Disease Conference in Philadelphia. She also contributed to research that was presented at the national conference of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. 

On a more personal note, she speaks multiple languages, including English, Arabic, and Spanish.
