A native of Bangladesh, Dr. Ahmed graduated with her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, also did her training in pediatrics.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Among her other roles, Dr. Ahmed has admitting privileges with Johnston – Willis Hospital and Chippenham Hospital. Before moving to Richmond in 2005, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University in Illinois.
