Kala earned her bachelor’s degree as a Registered Nurse from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSC) in 2002, followed by her master’s degree as a Womens Health Nurse Practitioner from Texas Woman’s University in 2007. Kala holds an advanced certification in hormones with World Link Medical. She has expertise in the fields of Women’s and Men’s Health, PCOS, Thyroid Disfunction, Bioidentical Hormones, Weight Loss, ThermiVa, ThermiSmooth, Gut Testing, Cosmetic Fillers and injectables.
Currently, Kala is treating patients at her Concierge Medical Practice, Pink Link Medical located in Plano, Texas. Kala’s approach is based on individualized care centered around integrative and preventive medicine. She is not limited due to the constraints of insurance regulations. Kala spends an hour or more with each patient, focused on identifying the root cause instead of “putting a band-aid” on the symptoms. Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan and leaves the office with a personalized plan to follow. The treatment plan is customized for each patient and includes bioidentical hormones, a nutrition plan, supplements and an exercise plan. Kala has structured her practice to give her patients one-of-a-kind treatment and this is what makes it a success! Many of Pink Link Medical’s patients come from referrals from other patients, a testament that her treatment plans are making a positive impact on their lives.
In order to stay up to date in her field, she maintains a professional membership with the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, The North Texas Nurse Practitioners and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. She continues to care for her patients in many aspects of their health.
Kala is a patient advocate and treats patients the way she wants to be treated, an approach that she believes attributes to her success Kala can relate to her patients. She has dealt with issues of PCOS, Hypothyroidism, Ehler Danlos Syndrome, POTS Syndrome, Infertility, etc., so she understands first-hand how it feels to be a patient and not feel well. Much of Kala’s career was spent working within the traditional medicine model, where only 15 minutes was allotted to each patient. In this environment, Kala did not feel she could care for patients the way they deserved to be treated, therefore, decided to start her own “specialized” medical practice in order to break this mold! Kala volunteers as a Training Assistant (TA) and sponsors people through the Non-profit Pathways Core Training. It is her passion to help individuals through this process that helps you improve your life from the inside out. In her spare time, Kala enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons.
