Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Omar Qazi, who serves patients throughout the State of Arkansas.

A hospitalist, Dr. Qazi specializes in the comprehensive medical care of hospitalized patients.

In collaboration with Baptist Health in Arkansas, he is affiliated with Baptist Health Medical Center-Hot Spring County, Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia, and Baptist Health Medical Center-Heber Springs.

Baptist Health is Arkansas’ most comprehensive healthcare organization with more than 250 points of access that include 11 hospitals, urgent care centers, a senior living community, and over 100 primary and specialty care clinics in Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. In regards to his educational background, Dr. Qazi graduated with his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Physiology from the University of Toronto in 2007. She then went on to earn his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Shifa College of Medicine in Pakistan in 2012.

Upon relocating to the United States to continue his training, Dr. Qazi performed his residency in family medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center from 2014 until 2017.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

On a professional level, Dr. Qazi is an active member of the American Medical Association and the Association of Medical Education in Europe.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of family medicine or internal medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Physicians whose primary professional focus is caring for hospitalized patients only while they are in the hospital are called hospitalists.
