He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. To continue his training he completed a Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship at the University of Miami Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in Florida followed by a Pediatric Ophthalmology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. To remain up to date in his profession he remains a professional member of the following organizations, the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, International Society of Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision, and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association of Pediatrics.

Current Position: Dr. Shah is currently a Physician with the Texas Children’s Hospital. He is also an assistant professor with Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology.

Ophthalmology: The specialization of the comprehensive medical and surgical care of the eyes and vision. Ophthalmologists are the only practitioners medically trained to diagnose and treat all eye and visual problems including vision services, glasses and contacts, and provide treatment and prevention of medical disorders of the eye including surgery.

Personal: When Dr. Shah is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, and playing the piano.
