His previous roles include staff neurosurgeon and chairman of the Division of Neurosurgery at United Regional Health Care Systems, along with positions at Kell West Regional Medical Center, St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Allegheny General Hospital, have further solidified his reputation in the field.

Dr. Gleason is also passionate about education and has served in several teaching roles throughout his career. From March 1999 to April 2003, he was a neurosurgery clerkship instructor for medical students and family practice residents at St. Vincent Hospital. His teaching contributions extend to Eastern Virginia Medical School and the Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahnemann University Medical School, as well as his teaching neuroanatomy at Harvard Medical School from 1991 to 1995.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Gleason is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery.
