An esteemed Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Transplant Critical Care Intensivist, Dr. Moreno Franco is the Chair for the Critical Care Department at Mayo Clinic Florida and Chair for Critical Care Specialty Council, Mayo Clinic Enterprise. Additionally, Dr. Moreno Franco is involved with the Medical Emergency Response Subcommittee, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care and safety.
His research interests focus on critical areas such as sepsis and shock care, delirium prevention, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) management, and liver transplantation. He is also dedicated to advancing knowledge through collaborations with the Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery, Multidisciplinary Epidemiology and Translational Research in Intensive Care and Perioperative Medicine (METRIC-PM), and the Acute Care Research Consortium (ACRC).
In his educational pursuits, Dr. Franco has actively contributed to the Quality Academy, providing training for residents, fellows, nurses, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists. He also serves in the Quality Academy as the Medical Director at Mayo Clinic Florida, as well as the Associate Medical Director for the Enterprise. His commitment to education underscores his belief that well-trained healthcare professionals are vital to delivering high-quality patient care.
