Patricia Jon Berkoski earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Cardiorespiratory Sciences in 1987 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She then went on to complete her Master of Science Degree in Gerontology in 1998 from Long Island University. Since her graduation, she has completed a number of advanced training courses.
Dr. Berkoski remains a distinguished member of the American Association for Respiratory Care, the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the National Board for Respiratory Care, and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. She holds certifications in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is also a Certified Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist. Dr. Berkoski is a highly-trained and qualified pulmonary rehabilitation specialist who has been practicing since 1970 and is currently serving patients at St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center in Roslyn, New York.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is a program of exercise, education, and support to help patients with chronic breathing problems or chronic conditions learn to breathe and function at the highest level possible. As a pulmonary rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Berkoski works to improve her patients’ physical conditions. She attributes her success to her passion for respiratory therapy and to the motivation she receives from her family. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, snorkeling, yoga, dancing, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
