With over 25 years of experience in medicine, his primary clinical interests are congenital heart disease, persistent pulmonary hypertension in newborns, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation and minimal invasive administration of surfactant.
Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Fernandez-Martorell graduated with his medical degree from the Universidad la Salle in Mexico. He completed his residency at the University of Texas A&M Driscoll Children’s Hospital, and his fellowship at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in neonatal-perinatal medicine and pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).
