A board-certified family nurse practitioner, Dr. Sparling tends to patients at her private practice, Mountain Advanced Practice, PLLC. She has been providing high quality, compassionate care to the communities in Western North Carolina since 2005.

Originally from northern Michigan, she graduated from Alpena High School, and attended the Michigan Technological University. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Alpena Community College in 1986, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Excelsior College in 1996. 

Wanting to further her education, Dr. Sparling earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Western Carolina University in 2004. Finally, she graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the same educational venue in 2017.

Board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center, she is a proud member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the North Carolina Nurses Association, and the Sigma Theta Tau Nurses Honor Society.

A Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) holds board certification and provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and body systems. FNPs maintain patient records, perform physical exams, order or perform diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans, as well as treat acute and chronic illnesses, conditions, and injuries that fall under primary care.
