Dr. Minotty is a skilled, board-certified ophthalmologist whose interests include general ophthalmology, glaucoma, and YAG laser capsulotomy. He is the President of New Vision Eye Center in Vero Beach, Florida
He founded New Vision Eye Center in 2009 in an effort to develop a practice dedicated to personal and customized patient care. There, he and his colleagues provide world class eye care, including advanced laser cataract surgery, dropless custom cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment and surgery, surgical and medical retina care, laser vision correction, general ophthalmology, and eyelid surgery.
Back in 1976, Dr. Minotty graduated with his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His post graduate training began as an intern at University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals. He then completed a residency in ophthalmology at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Maryland and was Chief Resident there until 1980.
In direct affiliation with his industry, he is a member of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, the Florida Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Indian River County Medical Society, and the American College of Eye Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Minotty is honored to serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine.
With a focus on eye and vision care, he is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.
On a more personal note, Dr. Minotty and his wife, Denise, reside in Vero Beach, where they raised their two daughters.
