With a commitment to comprehensive women’s healthcare, Dr. Ananth is an obstetrician-gynecologist who tends to patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley in Cortlandt Manor, New York. He specializes in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery and offers minimally invasive surgical techniques for a range of procedures, resulting in faster recovery with less postoperative pain and improved outcomes. In his current capacity, Dr. Ananth also serves as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Dr Ananth’s acclaimed career in healthcare began after he earned his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. While studying medicine he also obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health with a focus on International Health and Development through the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency at New York Medical College, where he was named Chief Resident and was honored with the Resident of the Year Award. He completed his fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Northside Hospital at the Atlanta Center for Special Pelvic Surgery and Reproductive Medicine in Georgia.

In his professional experience, Dr. Ananth has served as a physician volunteer in Guatemala and as a NO/AIDS Task Force community liaison. He has also presented at numerous medical conferences and regularly participates in community and international services. 

Dr Ananth is  affiliated with many professional organizations, and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society of Robotic Surgery, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, cervix, uterus, and ovaries, as well as the lower urinary and intestinal tracts – ureters, bladder, urethra, rectum).
