Amherst, Virginia – Peggy G. Pollard, RN, BSN, MSL, a distinguished leader in the health care sector, has dedicated more than 40 years to advancing nursing and health care delivery. Since October 2024, she has been making significant strides in her role as Director, Nurse Executive at Oracle Government Services, continuing her mission to innovate and improve health care for all.
Before her current position, Ms. Pollard served as the lead nursing executive at Oracle Health from September 2019 to October 2024, where she oversaw the nationwide implementation of an electronic medical records (EMR) system for the Veterans Affairs (VA) health care system. Her leadership in this complex project was instrumental in forming strategic partnerships and enhancing health care delivery through cutting-edge solutions, marking a substantial impact on the health care landscape on a national scale.
Ms. Pollard’s impressive educational background has been a cornerstone of her success. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lynchburg College, graduating magna cum laude, and holds a Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Change from Pfeiffer University. As a Registered Nurse certified by Virginia Baptist School of Nursing, her academic and professional training have provided her with the expertise and leadership capabilities necessary to drive significant change within the industry.
Beginning her career as a registered nurse in 1981, Ms. Pollard’s passion for nursing was ignited by her desire to improve the lives of others. Over the years, she has accomplished remarkable feats, including founding a fully accredited nursing school that achieved a 100% pass rate in its inaugural year—an extraordinary accomplishment in the field. She has also played a pivotal role in implementing large-scale health care projects and introducing innovative products within hospital settings, contributing to enhanced patient care.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Pollard is an active member of several renowned organizations, including the American Nurses Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Nursing Informatics Association. Her commitment to excellence in nursing has been recognized with numerous accolades, such as the Beacon Award and the Award for Career Pathways from the American Nurses Association. Furthermore, she is a recipient of the prestigious Daisy Award, which honors exceptional nursing practice.
Ms. Pollard believes in the importance of community service, dedicating her time to various organizations, including Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center, and actively participating in her local church. When she is not advancing health care initiatives, Ms. Pollard enjoys traveling, reading, and spending quality time with her family. She and her husband, Larry, are proud parents of four children, two of whom have chosen to pursue careers in health care and technology, continuing the family legacy of service and innovation.
