Dr. Gordon graduated with his Medical Degree from the SUNY Stony Brook in 2008, giving him over a decades of experience in his field. He then completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency with the Howard University Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) is a non-profit organization that independently certifies obstetricians and gynecologists (OB-GYNS) and also offers continuous certification (Maintenance of Certification) to OB-GYNS in the United States and Canada. Board certification is a voluntary process for those physicians who choose to pursue certification and maintain their certification.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is a broad and diverse branch of medicine that emcompasses two specialities: Obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and Gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system). Obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) are physicians who possess special knowledge, skills and professional capability in the medical and surgical care of the female reproductive system and its associated disorders.
