Dr. Raja is a highly skilled and experienced cardiologist. She and her husband, a gastroenterologist whom she met in medical school in India, opened Raja & Raja, MD, PA in Englewood, Florida.
Helping patients maintain a heart-healthy life, Dr. Raja is an expert in echocardiogram, transesophageal echo-c, carotid Doppler, stress tests (regular and nuclear), Holter monitor, event monitor, pacer clinic, AICD clinic, and EKGS. She also specializes in general cardiology, which includes heart murmur, CHF, CAD, and HTN, and is affiliated with HCA Florida Englewood Hospital.
Bringing to her practice a worldly medical education, Dr. Raja received her medical degree from Madras Medical College in India in 1979. She then relocated to the United States, completing her internship and residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey in 1980 and 1982, respectively. She further completed her fellowship at Jersey City Medical Center in 1984.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Raja is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
