Dr. Kumar’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 2002, when he graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery Degree from Madras Medical College in India. After moving to the United States, he completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency with the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. Pursuing advanced medical training, Dr. Kumar undertook his Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, followed by an additional fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He obtained board certification in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Vascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography.
Dr. Kumar has earned the coveted titles of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. For his wealth of expertise and contributions to his field, he is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, and is recognized as a specialist in echo, TEE, cardioversion, stress tests, and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Kumar has dedicated his life to providing the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to his patients, and attributes his success to his passion for cardiovascular medicine. In his free time, Dr. Kumar enjoys playing tennis and doing yoga.
