After a research fellowship where he studied neuronal plasticity at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, he proceeded to Temple University Hospital for his residency in neurosurgery.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, whose broad aim is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.

Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Ray is an active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

In his professional experience, he serves as Adjunct Faculty at Wistar Cancer Institute in Philadelphia. In this role, he directs the HGCC brain tumor bank and assists in steering translational research in brain tumors as well as cancer metastases. In addition, he acts as the neurosurgical liaison to the ChristianaCare trauma program.

A keen researcher, Dr. Ray is actively involved in collaborative research programs as well as clinical trials at Helen Graham Cancer Center (HGCC), ChristianaCare Health System and University of Delaware, and publishes in peer-reviewed journals in relation to cancer research.
