In regards to his educational background, Dr. Chilton III graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Sociology from Rice University in 1986. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in 1990, after which he performed his residency in emergency medicine at Christ Hospital And Medical Center from 1990 until 1993.
Board-certified in emergency medicine, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.
Having been a physician leader in the Austin medical community since 1995, Dr. Chilton III has been the Medical Director of multiple Emergency Departments throughout his career.
Holding fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (FAAEM).
