When she was eight years old, Rebekah’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. The nurses at the hospital caring for her mother amazed her and she told herself that one day, she would like to be like them and help others.
In May of 2019, Rebekah graduated with her nursing degree from Vernon College. From there, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Houston Baptist University in August of 2020.
A member of the The National Society of Leadership and Success, she holds certificates in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS – not intended for postnominal use).
A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
Among her various awards and honors, Rebekah has been the recipient of the Faculty Choice Award for Outstanding Dedication to Your Studies (2015) and the Certificate of Honor for Recognition of Outstanding Achievement in the Area of Nurses Association (2019).
In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses.
