Regina Duncan, RN, a Registered Nurse with Emory Decatur Hospital
Regina, a registered nurse, serves as the Nurse Manager of the Oncology Renal Unit at Emory Decatur Hospital in Georgia. She has been dedicated to oncology nursing, encouraging patients who have a difficult road ahead and helping them find hope in desperate situations.
Founded in 1961 as DeKalb General and later known as DeKalb Medical, the hospital joined Emory Healthcare in 2018 and is now part of Georgia’s most comprehensive academic health system. For patients, this means even stronger, more accessible, high-quality care.
The goal of Emory Decatur Hospital is to be a true health and wellness partner to the members of the community. To begin her career, Regina graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2015. She is currently enrolled at Grand Canyon University, studying to complete her Master of Science in Nursing degree (Family Nurse Practitioner Program).
Holding the Certified Nurse Manager and Leader credential, she is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, the American Nurses Association, and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
The Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) credential is designed exclusively for nurse leaders in the nurse manager role. With the CNML certification, one will become recognized as a leader in their health care community.
On a more personal note, Regina travels as much as her schedule allows. She camps in North Georgia on occasion and treasures worldwide travel.
