Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Abraham received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1991, and completed his general surgery training at Yale University and New York Medical College. He completed his thoracic oncology training at Memorial Sloan Kettering and SUNY Buffalo, and gained his cardiovascular surgery experience under the direction of heart surgery pioneer, Dr. Tomas Salerno.
An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, which is an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest.
To boot, he is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Abraham is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
