Get to know Registered Nurse Ashley N. Weigel, who serves patients within Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
Ashley is currently attending Jacksonville University and is expected to graduate with her Master of Science in nursing in Leadership and Administration in June of 2019. She also holds additional certification and Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well as Medical-Surgical Certified and Stroke Certified.
She graduated with her Nursing Degree and as a Certified Registered Nurse from Arnot Ogden Medical Center in 2015, furthering her education she then graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Chamberlain University College of Nursing in 2016. To stay up to date in her field, Ashley remains a professional member of the American Nurses Association – National and New York Chapter. She currently practices with Arnot Ogden Medical Center where she holds an expertise in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Stress Tests, and Echos.

The main role of a registered nurse is to assist physicians in providing treatment to patients suffering from various medical conditions. While their primary responsibilities will involve caring for patients, their specific job duties will vary depending on your employer and specialization. While a majority of registered nurses work at hospitals they are not limited to that setting, they can also work in clinics, schools, assisted living facilities, homes, schools and more. They must also stay up-to-date with new tools and technology to help provide the best care to patients and families, and the best support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. Registered nurses must possess excellent communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
