Brittany’s career in Nursing began when she graduated with her Bachelor’s of Nursing degree from Liberty University in 2012 and received the honor of Cum Laude specializing the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Although she gained experience and knowledge working with adult patients, she has always had a passion for the neonatal population.
To stay up to date in her field, she remains a professional member of the American Nurses Association and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses.
Brittany attributes her professional success to her passion for helping others and wanting to be in the healthcare field simultaneously. Eventually, she came to learn that nurses are the heart of healthcare. They are present for pivotal moments and have the ability to make a significant impact on people’s lives. Brittany always knew she wanted to be a part of that.
The main role of a registered nurse is to assist physicians in providing treatment to patients suffering from various medical conditions. While their primary responsibilities will involve caring for patients, their specific job duties will vary depending on your employer and specialization. While a majority of registered nurses work at hospitals they are not limited to that setting, they can also work in clinics, schools, assisted living facilities, homes, schools and more. They must also stay up-to-date with new tools and technology to help provide the best care to patients and families, and the best support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. Registered nurses must possess excellent communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
