Registered Nurse, Ellen A. Hughes is a clinical consultant and patient safety/quality improvement consultant with the Ohio Hospital Association. Additionally, she is a clinical consultant with the Partnership for Patients – Ohio Hospital Association Engagement Network.

As a Senior Clinical Process Consultant, Ellen has been retained by the Ohio Hospital Association for the life of the Ohio project, recently awarded a continuation year as a result of our accomplishments and improvements in Ohio. Partnership for Patients is a national project that is Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) grant funded for the reduction of injury, infections and healthcare acquired conditions.

Previously, she was the project manager for an 18 month Grant funded patient safety/quality improvement projects for 18 hospitals collaborative in Central Ohio, as well as a Risk Manager for Kaiser Permanente with the Ohio and California Regions.

As the united voice of Ohio’s hospitals, the Ohio Hospital Association leverages data and expertise to be the leader in influencing health policy, driving quality improvement initiatives and advocating for economic sustainability to serve our diverse membership. Ellen graduated with her Nursing Degree from Providence Hospital College of Nursing in 1978, giving her over four decades of experience in her field.
