Education: Jonica attended the San Francisco State University and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelors of Art in Psychology. Deciding to pursue further education she completed her Nursing degree in 1993 from City College of San Francisco, CA.

To keep current with the new developments in her field Jonica maintains a professional membership with the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee.

Current Position: After graduating with her Nursing Degree she began working for  California Pacific Medical Center, and is still currently working there. She has been part of the California Pacific Medical Center staff for over two decades.

While their primary responsibilities will involve caring for patients, their specific job duties will vary depending on your employer and specialization. Jonica’s specializations are Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Medical Surgery, Telemetry, and Cardiovascular, so her job role will be assisting physicians in those specific medical situations. While a majority of registered nurses work at hospitals they are not limited to that setting, they can also work in in clinics, schools, assisted living facilities, homes, schools and more. They must also stay up-to-date with new tools and technology to help provide the best care to patients and families, and the best support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. Personal: Jonica goes on various mission trips to India, Peru, and to help after Hurricane Katrina. She would spend about three months at each hospital helping with relief and teaching the nurses there. Jonica is also an active member of San Francisco’s Neighborhood Emergency Response Team, or NERT. When Jonica is not working or volunteering she enjoys gardening, yoga, hiking, and being outdoors.
