Registered Nurse Ronald G. Lindaman, RN who Provides Care for the Niagara Falls, New York Area

Get to know Registered Nurse Ronald G. Lindaman, who serves patients within Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Ronald graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Pensacola Christian College in 1997.  He was then inspired to go in the field of nursing, as the nurses he worked with absolutely loved their job. What me the most was the nurses I  and how they He took a two week vacation from his Corrections officer job at the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department to work at the hospital to see if I liked it. During this time he got a glimpse of what the hospital was all about and it was during this time he made a decision to resign from his Corrections Officer position and start his career at the hospital. Working in the hospital environment and with the nurses is what then persuaded him to return to school and begin my journey to become a Registered Nurse.

Ronald worked as a Corrections officer for about 8 years before accepting a position at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center as a Program Aide. When he started at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in 2007 he was assigned to the female adult psychiatric unit. After working on this unit for about five years he then applied and accepted another position in the Psychiatric Emergency Room Unit and was there for about five years before he took a position as a Registered Nurse. Ronald graduated with his Nursing Degree, his Associates in Applied Science in Nursing and as a Registered Nurse from Trocaire College in 2016. He also holds certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Telemetry.

Ronald currently practices with Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center within the ICU Stepdown unit and the cardiac stroke unit where he holds an expertise in Cardiac care, Adult/Geriatric care, Strokes, and Blood Transfusions, and Wound Vacs. He is assigned his patients within the unit, and assess each patient and look and watch for any abnormalities or changes in their condition. If there are any abnormalities they use our critical thinking skills to see if there is something that we can do to improve their situation and if not we contact the doctor via the charge nurse of the floor.

To help education his community, Ronaldo has also spent time teaching about HIV, and has worked as a HIV test pre and post test counselor and ha performed HIV testing.

Ronaldo is motivated by being in a position where he can help people specially when they are at their weakest and try to put a smile on their face because. He cares for all his patients and wants them to to be able to see that. He is friendly to all his patients no matter what their situation is and treats each one with compassion, friendliness, and overall respect. This is how he has build a good relationship with all of his patients. The longer you work as a Registered Nurse the more you learn about certain diseases, medications and other treatment modalities. With this knowledge you can educate your patient in order to help them learn about their illness or disease and teach them what they should do to get better and stay healthy when they are finally discharged from the hospital. Lastly as a nurse you have to have a calm demeanor no matter what situations that may come up and when your calm that in turn can calm the patient down as well.

He attributes his success to the sacrifices he has had to make, the support from his mom, his best friend Pauls encouragement and his colleagues. He has persevered through many obstacles that came his way throughout nursing school. When not working he enjoys going to the gym, spending time with friends, traveling, and watching sports.

The main role of a registered nurse is to assist physicians in providing treatment to patients suffering from various medical conditions. While their primary responsibilities will involve caring for patients, their specific job duties will vary depending on your employer and specialization. While a majority of registered nurses work at hospitals they are not limited to that setting, they can also work in in clinics, schools, assisted living facilities, homes, schools and more. They must also stay up-to-date with new tools and technology to help provide the best care to patients and families, and the best support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. Registered nurses must possess excellent communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
