Registered Nurse Ruth DAvilar is now currently retired, though she remains affiliated with Woodhull Hospital Center. NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull is the hospital of choice for residents of North Brooklyn, including Bushwick, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bedford Stuyvesant, and Fort Greene. They provide primary, specialty, and acute care services with an emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion. They treat all patients regardless of their ability to pay. They value their partnership with the community in identifying and meeting health care needs.

Ruth graduated with her Nursing degree in 1977, giving her over four decades of experience in her field. She holds expertise in Medical/Surgical care, Obstetrics, Psyche, and Telephonic Triage.

To stay up to date in her field she remains a professional member of the American Nurses Association.
