The main role of a registered nurse is to assist physicians in providing treatment to patients suffering from various medical conditions. While their primary responsibilities will involve caring for patients, their specific job duties will vary depending on your employer and specialization. While a majority of registered nurses work at hospitals they are not limited to that setting, they can also work in in clinics, schools, assisted living facilities, homes and more. They must also stay up-to-date with new tools and technology to help provide the best care to patients and families, and the best support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. Registered nurses must possess excellent communication, emotional maturity, intelligence, teamwork, problem- solving and critical-thinking skills.

Pamela chose a career in nursing due to her role models growing up, such as Clara Barton and Florence Nightingale, as well as her neighbor who was the Chief Nurse at Moody Air Force Base. She attributes her professional success to her colleagues, mentors, husband and family. When she is not working she enjoys gardening and caring for her chickens.
