He then went on to perform his residency in general surgery and his surgical research fellowship at Detroit Medical Center.
Following his training, he attained board certification in general surgery through the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Combining knowledge and 30 years of experience to provide state-of-the-art treatment and compassionate care, Dr. Albaran is a Liaison on the Cancer Committee. He is also the author of “CD4 Counts as a Prognostic Factor of Major Abdominal Surgery in HIV Patients” in Archives of Surgery, 1998.
