Dr. Jay Rapley has been practicing for more than 14 years and in that time has become known as one of the leading orthopaedists and sports medicine physicians in Lee’s Summit. His medical career began in 2004 when he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. After a residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Rapley completed fellowships at Plano Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy in Plano, Texas, and at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Rapley is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and provides treatment both surgical and non-surgical for conditions including joint pain, shoulder rotator cuff tears, shoulder labels tears, shoulder instability, carpal tunnel syndrome, knee pain, meniscus tears, ACL tears, and tendinitis around the knee. He is especially renowned for his expertise in the treatment of sports injuries, such as rotator cuff injuries, knee ligament tears, fractures and dislocations.
Dr. Rapley serves as team physician for the athletics teams of a number of local high schools, and he is an active member of professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Missouri State Orthopaedic Association. His expertise within his field, and his dedication to his work, makes Dr. Jay Rapley a very worthy winner of a 2018 Top Doctor Award.
