Dr. Strax is an experienced radiologist whose specialities include chest radiology, interventional and vascular radiology, mammography, and diagnostic breast procedures. He works within Radiology and Diagnostic Services at Baylor Clinic in Houston, Texas.

“My goal as a physician and a radiologist is to always see the patient behind the image. In collaboration with CHI St. Luke’s Health, he is affiliated with Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Patients Medical Center, and Memorial Hospital. Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Baylor College of Medicine.

A 1976 graduate of the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, Dr. Strax went on to perform his internship in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. This was followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at UT Health Science Center at Houston in 1980.

Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in diagnostic radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

With four decades of experience, Dr. Strax is on the Board of Chancellors of the American College of Radiology, of which he is a Fellow. He is also a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology. 

Radiology is a medical specialty that uses medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the human body. Radiologists are medical doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases using medical imaging procedures, such as exams and tests, X-rays, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, mammography, positron emission tomography, and ultrasound.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Strax enjoys mentoring, running, and doing yoga.
