Daphney graduated with her Nursing Degree and as a Registered Nurse from Dalton State College in 1984, giving her over three decades of experience in her field. Furthering her education she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Carson–Newman University in 2001. She also holds certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.
To stay up to date in her field, Daphney remains a professional member of the American Nurses Association and the Georgia Nurses Association. She currently practices as an RN Quality Manager with Kindred Hospice. She attributes her professional success to nursing being her passion when she was a young child, and always knowing that, that was her calling.
