Robert Hoover II, DPM, a Podiatrist with Foot & Ankle Associates of Florida

Get to know Podiatrist Dr. Robert Hoover II, who serves patients in Florida.

Dr. Hoover II is a well-respected podiatrist in the Central Florida community. He performs a wide array of foot and ankle services for his patients, but his specialty is treating flat feet and associated issues like hammertoes, bunions, heel/ankle pain, and tendonitis.

Currently, Dr. Hoover II is a part of the team of professionals at Foot & Ankle Associates of Florida, operating out of the office in Altamonte Springs. He is also affiliated with the Florida Hospital Healthcare System (all locations), serving on the Peer Review Committee, the Physician Advisory Committee, the OR Governance Committee, and is Chairman of the Podiatry Section. 

His educational appointments include being part of the teaching staff at Florida Hospital for both Podiatric Surgery and Family Practice residents. He is also an Associate Professor at Barry University (since 2007) and on the volunteer faculty at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Family Medicine. 

Carrying on a long tradition of healthcare started by his father who was also a physician, Dr. Hoover II earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. After earning his DPM, he completed his podiatric residency at Florida Hospital East Orlando.

Board-certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, he holds memberships with the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, as well as the American, Florida, and Central Florida Podiatric Medical Associations. 

From 2004 until 2006, Dr. Hoover II served as CME Faculty Development for Florida Hospital Medical Center.

A podiatrist, also known as a podiatric physician or a foot and ankle surgeon, is a medical professional devoted to the treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. They can treat injuries and complications from ongoing health issues like diabetes. 

Giving back to his community by volunteering, Dr. Hoover II has been a coach for a ladies high school basketball team at a local school. He also promotes healthy living with his involvement in Hoover’s Market, a local health food store.

When not treating patients, he loves spending his spare time with his family and is a proud Grandpa. He enjoys recreational activities, especially golfing and fishing.
