In practice for over three decades, Dr. Detweiler is one of the founding physicians of Detweiler Family Medicine & Associates. He is experienced in hypertension, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, asthma, and osteoarthritis, taking into account all aspects of health and wellness.

Detweiler Family Medicine & Associates has been providing primary care to individuals and families from Montgomery and Bucks Counties for more than 35 years. The team of progressive family physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants work together to provide patients of all ages with comprehensive medical care.

In his current capacity, Dr. Detweiler is on staff at Abington Memorial Hospital, Grandview Hospital, Einstein Hospital, and Abington Health Lansdale Hospital (having served as Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine for two terms). He is also the Medical Director for several area nursing homes & one area hospice organization.

An Aviation Medical Examiner, he performs medical examinations for commercial & private pilots. He is certified to refer patients for medical marijuana treatment, and trained in aesthetic medicine which offers numerous innovative cosmetic procedures.

Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985, Dr. Detweiler went on to further his training. He completed his residency in family medicine at Suburban Community Hospital in 1987.

Before long, he became board-certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.

Actively involved in his field, De. Detweiler remains a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the Pennsylvania Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. He has also served as a delegate to the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.

On a more personal note, Dr. Detweiler has been married for over thirty years and has three grown sons. When not working, he enjoys traveling, scuba diving, skiing, golfing, kayaking and road cycling.
