Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985, Dr. Detweiler went on to further his training. He completed his residency in family medicine at Suburban Community Hospital in 1987.
Before long, he became board-certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
Actively involved in his field, De. Detweiler remains a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the Pennsylvania Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. He has also served as a delegate to the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.
