A seasoned radiologist, Dr. Post is the Vice President of Medical Center Radiologists, and serves as the Medical Director of Diagnostic Radiology at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. He enjoys all aspects of radiology including musculoskeletal, body, pediatrics, and breast.
Medical Center Radiologists (MCR) is the largest radiology practice in Southeast Virginia, providing radiology services to Hampton Roads for over 65 years. Their board-certified physicians provide a complete range of imaging services to four hospitals and six imaging centers in Hampton Roads. Nearly all of their experienced and well-trained radiologists have completed subspecialty fellowships, covering nine separate subspecialty areas of imaging, allowing them to provide patients with exceptional care.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Post graduated with his medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, before completing his residency and fellowship at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
With a passion for teaching, he serves as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Radiology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). He has been honored as a Teacher of the Year when he was a resident and recently as an attending by the EVMS residents.
Radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A radiologist is a physician who uses imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Post enjoys all the opportunities offered by the Tidewater region from kayaking in the bay to rollerblading. As a former doctor for a Marine unit, he enjoys meeting up with his former brothers in arms. He strives every day to live to honor the fallen heroes from his former unit, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines.
