He conducted his final year of residency in psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (1977-1978). Furthermore, he completed advanced training in forensic psychiatry at NYU/Bellevue Hospital.
Dr. Dengrobe became board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1980. In 1990, he attained his board-certification in forensic psychiatry from the same certifying body. The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN) is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 1934 as a method of identifying the qualified specialists in psychiatry and neurology. The ABPN is one of 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
