Born in Fairfield, Connecticut, Dr. Glatzer obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry at the University of Vermont, where he graduated with the highest honors, being elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical education at the New York Medical College, and completed his medical internship at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He then went on to serve his residency in ophthalmology and his fellowship in retina and vitreous diseases and surgery at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

On a professional level, he is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Broward County Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the Miami Ophthalmologic Society, and the Broward County Ophthalmology Society.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye.
