Furthering his education he then graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College Osteopathic Medicine in 1985, giving him over three decades of experience in his field.

After obtaining his Medical Degree, Dr. Royce completed his Pediatric Orthopaedic Residency with the The Children’s Hospital Harvard Medical School followed by his Total Joint Replacement Surgical Residency with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Harvard Medical School. Wanting to further his training he then completed his Trauma Fellowship with the Regionalspital Sta Maria in Visp, Switzerland and his Biological Joint Reconstruction Fellowship with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Royce is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. To stay up to date in his field, he remains a professional member of the Sigma Sigma Phi National Osteopathic Honor Society, American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, AO/ASIF Fellowship Alumni Organization, Colorado Medical Society, El Paso County Medical Society, Colorado Society of Osteopathic Medicine, Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation, and the Rocky Mountain Traumatologic Society, Wester. Additionally he has been inducted as a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Board of Osteopathic Surgery.

Dr. Royce is a member of the United Stated Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Program and was a team physician for the US Team at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. In addition, he is a USA Hockey Team Physician and has traveled internationally with them for more than 10 years. He has also has provided care to high school athletics in Colorado Springs for over 20 years.
