Dr. Stahl is a Board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery as well as the medical, laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma. She is currently affiliated with Associates in Eye Care, serving patients at their offices in Springfield and Union, New Jersey.
The doctor is also recognized for her work with minimally invasive, “small incision, no needle, no stitch, no patch” outpatient cataract surgery using only “eye drop anesthesia”, state-of-the-art techniques and Intraocular Lens Implants (IOL). She is committed to helping patients with cataracts become independent of eyeglasses using near vision presbyopia correcting multifocal lens implants. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, she prides herself on providing compassionate, thorough and personalized care for her patients.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Stahl received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and earned her medical degree from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, graduating magna cum laude. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at The University of Michigan-Kellogg Eye Center in Ann Arbor, as well as a fellowship in glaucoma at Columbia University Edward Harkness Eye Institute.
Following her training, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
Continuously advancing her efforts, she is an active member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Stahl is a member of the faculty at Columbia University, where she is actively involved in resident education and surgical instruction.
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. Ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and may perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.
Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Stahl has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Walter K. Parker Award at the University of Michigan for her dedication to teaching residents and medical students, and the Phillip Knapp Memorial Teaching Award for excellence in surgical instruction.
Happily married, she and her husband live in Westfield with their three daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, running and cooking. In addition to English, she is conversational in Spanish.
