Dr. Lloyd’s impressive academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Bioengineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She further earned her MD and PhD in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Following her rigorous training, Dr. Lloyd completed her residency in general surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a clinical fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she also served as a Clinical Instructor.
As a Diplomate of both the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Lloyd holds the distinction of being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She is an active member of the American Medical Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, further emphasizing her commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
In her academic role as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Lloyd is dedicated to training the next generation of surgeons and fostering a culture of excellence in patient care.
